Tailored Creative Experiences
Umbrella has a vibrant community of talented artists with a variety of skills who make work and facilitate workshops in The Studio. This means that we can tailor a creative art workshop or educational experience specifically to your interests, needs and skill level – whether you are a school class, community group or corporate team!
Many of our workshops are open to beginners wanting to extend their creativity and learn new skills. Umbrella also curates and coordinates programs for children, youth and artists of all skill levels, including professional development workshops and residencies. Find out more about our Creative Youth programs here or keep an eye out on our public programs for scheduled workshops.
We also have a range of bespoke events available to cater for your next team-building event, Christmas party, hens' party or other group celebration with a Life Drawing or Clay Stoneware package.
Another example of Umbrella's long-standing and successful partnered programs is the Young Indigenous Printmakers program, partnered with Townsville City Galleries.

Umbrella Studio Contemporary Arts respectfully acknowledges the Wulgurukaba of Gurambilbarra and Yunbenun and the surrounding groups of our region - Bindal, Gugu Badhan, Nywaigi, Warrgamay, Bandjin and Gudjal - as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we gather, share and celebrate local creative practice. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders as the first people of Australia. They have never ceded sovereignty and remain strong in their enduring connection to land and Culture.
