Create unique designs on fabric with Allison Hoolihan. Participants will explore a variety of techniques such as wax resist, printmaking and appliqué and learn how to mix fabric paint using household ingredients. Experiment with Allison’s collection of block stamps or make your own and transform a tote bag into a piece of wearable art!

This workshop is suitable for beginners. All materials and equipment provided.

Limited to 10 spaces (ages 13-17) | Bookings close on the Friday prior to the Workshop Day at 4pm. | The workshops will take place in Umbrella’s downstairs studio at 408 Flinders St (next to Mary Who? Bookshop and opposite Woolworths). | All bookings subject to Umbrella's workshop and public programs booking policy.


Gugu Badhun local artist Allison Hoolihan is a practicing artist with learned experience in a variety of mediums. Most current practice involves being a stallholder at local markets and her continual contribution to the People Culture & County Project over the past four years.  Allison draws her inspiration from life of past, present and future.

People, Culture & Country 2024: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Project is an initiative of the Department of Education, North Queensland Region. This project is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland; Townsville City Galleries – Townsville City Council; and by Umbrella Studio Contemporary Arts.
