Create your own linocut prints in The Studio. Under the guidance of local artist Ann Bartholomeusz, participants will design, carve, and print their own linocut blocks. Ann will provide expert instruction on the use of tools and techniques and assist attendees to use Umbrella’s printmaking press. Participants can expect to gain basic knowledge of linocut processes and complete a set of finished prints. The workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some prior experience. All materials and equipment provided.
What to bring
- Wear closed in shoes
- Sketches and images to use as reference material
- Drink bottle
Limited to 10 spaces (ages 15-21) | Bookings close on the Friday prior to the Workshop Day at 4pm. | The workshops will take place in Umbrella’s downstairs studio at 408 Flinders St (next to Mary Who? Bookshop and opposite Woolworths). | All bookings subject to Umbrella's workshop and public programs booking policy.
Ann Bartholomeusz is an artist and printmaker. She was born in London and lives and practises on Gurambilbarra / Townsville. After studying foundation art at college, Ann went on to graduate at the University of Wolverhampton with an Honours Degree in Fine Art (Printmaking). Exhibiting in group exhibitions since 2005, she had her first solo exhibition in 2021 following a 3-month Artist-in-Residence opportunity. Her work focuses primarily on imagery that reflects her own and other people’s identity and she is interested in the things that make us who we are.
