Suzannah Babicci, Lichen Sculpture #1, 2022, Ceramic and underglaze, 10 x 20.1 x 14.2cm.

Earth Division examines sustainable action and art-making, considering organic materials, human-made forms, and man-made forms. Using environmental undercurrents, work is created through three criteria – it must be useful, beautiful or biodegradable. Building on previous investigations of disparity between the machine and human action, this new body of work takes inspiration from the microscopic world, seeking unity in material and process.
