COVID-19 Response

From Thursday 14 April 2022, the previous requirement to check-in and to be fully vaccinated in a range of venues (including galleries) and events ended. The number of people able to attend is unrestricted, regardless of the vaccination status of those attending. Masks are not currently required but visitors must comply with Queensland governmental regulations, updated regularly here. From 1 November 2022, the public health emergency declaration ended, and the Chief Health Officer no longer has powers to create and maintain mandates (unless a new pandemic or new health emergency is declared or re-declared). From 11 November 2022, masks are recommended in a variety of settings.

Umbrella will continue to monitor advice and regulations and strive to keep our visitors and personnel (artists, staff and volunteers) safe. This includes cleaning surfaces, providing alcohol-based hand sanitizer for usage and further internal policies for personnel. Our personnel, for instance, should monitor for COVID-19 symptoms, self-test or get tested if developing any symptoms, and follow the Queensland Government advice if testing positive. In return, visitors must comply with Umbrella's entry conditions and follow any staff and volunteer directives.
