Stephen Coutts – Pareidolia and the Subconscious
27 June - 26 July
Exhibition dates for this period are currently tentative. Umbrella is responding to individual artists while the gallery remains closed to protect staff and visitors while COVID-19 and physical distancing restrictions are in place. We look forward to your visit when we can reopen. Please join our eNews or follow our social media for updates as they arise.
Stephen Coutts’ exhibition explores the link between ‘pareidolia,’ a phenomenon where the mind responds to a stimulus by seeing familiar forms where none exist, and the subconscious. The resultant works include drawings, prints and sculptures which invite subjective responses and degrees of perceived meaning.
