Marker-resist Etching Workshops with Jill O’Sullivan
27 March @ 9:30 am - 28 March @ 12:30 pm| See below for prices
Join Umbrella and master printmaker Jill O’Sullivan for two experimental etching workshops. Participants of all skill levels will be introduced to a new printmaking technique combining traditional etching with the illustrative benefits of permanent markers.
Participants will need to attend both workshop sessions to draw, etch, proof, print and experiment with backgrounds. Jill will provide ongoing demonstrations and participants will be encouraged to experiment and develop their skill base. Participants will each produce small editions of their work. Participants are required to wear covered footwear, and are encouraged to bring their own sketch book, image ideas, and COVID-safe masks. All other materials (including copper plates and paper) and morning tea will be provided. Additional copper plates will also be available for purchase for $12 each.
The workshops will be held in the downstairs Makerspace of Umbrella Studio Contemporary Arts, 408 Flinders Street, Townsville (next to Mary Who? Bookshop and opposite Woolworths).
