Cherie Joy Payne

Born in Sydney Australia Cherie regards herself as a Townsville local now, having lived here for the past sixteen years. Cherie's works is based in conceptual art with a focus on symbolism. The theme underpinning her work is a mixture of emotionally associated imagery, family ties, metaphysical or spiritual philosophies and a love of nature <3 Cherie's most recent artistic studies were completed at James Cook University under the guidance of artists/lectures: James Brown, Ric Schmit, Anneke Silver, Anne Lord and Connie Palomo - graduating from an Honors degree in Art in 2007. Followed by a Masters degree in Social Work in 2015. Earlier creative study endeavors in a Certificate IV & Diploma in Art were taught by artists/TAFE lecturers: Lenore Howard and Jill Chism.
