Chinese Brush Painting | Beginners Basics
9.30 – 12pm Sunday 7, 14, 21, 28 February and 7 March
A five week course introducing the Four Paragons of Chinese Brush Painting; which are the basis of this particular artform. Each class emphasizes technique, reinforced by appropriate theory & practise.
Cost: $150 for members, $175 for non-members, includes all materials.
Angela Gardner, Gwenn Tasker and Lisa Pullen link Poetry and Printmaking
10am – 3pm, Saturday 13 & Sunday 14 March
In the Main Space and Studio, Night Ladder artists will engage in a dialogue with local poets and printmakers; exploring ways of bringing printmaking and poetry together. Poets, writers and printmakers are encouraged to participate.
Cost $40 for members $45 for non-members
Jill O’Sullivan teaches you to build your own lino-press
10am – 3pm, Saturday 10 April
In this hands on Studio workshop you will build your own Lino-press to take home from Cost $25 for members $30 for non-members (materials fee TBA).
Marion Gaemers & Habitus Habitat – A workshop that celebrate our environment
9am – 2pm Saturday 15 May
Marion facilitates art making in an area to be advised to create an ephemeral installation using mixed media and found materials, bring your camera to photograph in situ. Meet at the Wetlands. The workshop is free.
Take the Umbrella Bus to Roseneath Artist’s Studios
10:30am – 3pm, Saturday 22 May
A helicopter being fabricated, the boat under construction on another property, artist’s studios including watercolors and the sculpture studio of Italo Giardina are some of the happenings you will see from the community of artists living and working in Roseneath. Bring a plate to share and your own chair as we travel by bus west to rural Roseneath. Afternoon lunch and artist’s studio visit. $15 for members, $20 for non-members. Limited to 30. Meet for bus at Flinders Street car park next to Umbrella.
Jan Hynes – Letterbox
10am – 3pm, Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 June
Why do we all have the same generically issued letterbox? Your letterbox will become a distinctive accessory for your house, a public proclamation of your creativity and ingenuity. Come along to a workshop in the Studio Downstairs and Main Space to design/create/fabricate/decorate your own letterbox. Cost $30 for members $35 for non-members (materials fee TBD).
Donna Beningfield & Margaret Trevethan – Enneagram and you
10am - 1pm, Sunday 27 June & 4 July
In the Access Gallery and Studio Downstairs Artist Donna Beningfield and workshop facilitator Margaret Trevethan guide us through the Enneagram System and applying it to life. The Enneagram points the way to who we are beyond personality, a dimension of ourselves that is infinitely more profound, more interesting, more rewarding, and more real. Cost $30 for members $40 for non-members.
