Simply Creating Artist Books with Belinda Curry
20 May @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm| See below for prices
Most of us have produced works on paper that didn’t quite work out. Some of us have saved beautiful images from calendars that are sitting in drawers. This workshop is designed to re-purpose those pieces into simply constructed artist books. These books can be as functional and/or as decorative as your imagination.
Two different styles will be taught, Japanese Stab Book and a Concertina variation.
This workshop will provide participants the technical skills to create two styles of artist books, incorporating works on paper, through cutting, folding and simplistic stitching.
Ability level, from 10 years to adult.
Participants to bring:
• 4 sheets (minimum) of works on paper/decorative paper for cutting – at least A5 size (e.g. works on paper – watercolour, prints, children’s work, calendars etc.)
• decorative items to embellish (e.g. beads, feathers etc.) – non essential
A limited range of paper and decorative items will be available for use.
