In October Umbrella Studio will present Compact Prints 2010, an exhibition of digital and traditional prints. This biennial international print exhibition and exchange features the work of 129 artists from 18 countries, many of whom have participated since its inception in 2002.
Artists have submitted two prints from the same edition. One print will be exchanged with another participating artist and the second will be displayed in a CD case as a part of the exhibition. Over 100 of the participants generously donated a third print to be auctioned on the opening night of the exhibition, 7pm October 8, to raise funds for printmaking equipment.
Umbrella Studio will produce an interactive CD catalogue which includes each artist's work and statement. Each participant will receive a copy of this CD together with their exchanged print at the completion of the exhibition.
This year we are inviting national and international participants that are interested in hosting Compact Prints 2010 in a gallery in their home town or city to please contact Umbrella Studio.
