My work in general concerns symbols which arrest my attention. They are intuitive choices. I'm drawn to archetypal images. Why do I make them into 'things'? Just making things seems to be one of the rites of passage on my psychological journey, battling ambiguity and searching for significance and, like everyone else, getting on financially, as best as I can. There is a definite playful ingredient evident in my work. I'm a shaman, playing with codes and symbols. What appeals, is the juxtaposition of the familiar and the eternal, to create a secular sacredness, shedding new light on familiar objects and events. Simple totems, if you will, lurking in my psyche.
