Recycling in art has been utilized as a form of communication and self identity, where anthropogenic waste is not used simply as the content of the work, but also as canvas, brush, frame and platform.
My intention is to visually reflect the relationship between humans and their environment, by exploring the concept of recycling through the layering and interweaving of others’ trash, resulting in the transformation of convention.
The diffusion of organic and technological, animal and human, primate and civilized is integrated with strong elements of design.
We live in a throwaway society, characterised by an endless array of choices and ever-emerging wants. Population growth and changes in technology provides me with an eternal supply of materials for my art work, through which I continue to grow with time.
